What is threading

What is threading?

Threading is an ancient hair removal technique that originated from India and Central Asia.

Threading is where a piece of thread is used to effectively remove unwanted hairs from the brows and face. The thread is twisted into a figure of 8 shape and held using the hands and mouth.

The thread is glided over the areas of any unwanted hair effectively removing them from the follicles. This technique is fantastic for creating a really neat and precise line which is why it makes it a great hair removal technique for the eyebrows.

It is similar to tweezing but you can effectively remove rows of hairs thus making this a much faster treatment.

Threading is a great option for those clients with a more sensitised or acne. It is beneficial for prone skin types as it is not taking off the top layer of skin as waxing does.

Of course there will be redness after the treatment as the hairs are being removed from the follicles but it is much kinder to your delicate facial areas.

Threading is best for smaller areas of hair removal, it wouldn’t be time efficient for larger areas such as legs.

Most people wait 4-6 weeks before their next threading appointment but this will vary depending on the rate of hair growth.
